The Children’s Hospital Bilingüe Tuition Repayment Program

The Children’s Hospital is committed to providing employment opportunities to candidates with excellent clinical skills, great customer service, and diverse backgrounds and experiences. The hospital is looking for bilingual BSN nurses who speak Spanish and English fluently. Our tuition repayment program is designed to:

  • Support the hospital’s growing Spanish-speaking patient population
  • Encourage inclusiveness and enhance our cultural awareness
  • Continue to provide excellent customer service to all of the hospital’s patients and families

Candidates will be required to successfully complete two phases. Phase I candidates will provide the requested information and be selected for the award. In Phase II, the candidate will apply and must be hired for a Clinical Nurse I position. 

Once hired, the repayment award will be provided. Repayment will be $25,000 before taxes or two years of tuition (whichever is less). Appropriate taxes will be taken out of the repayment.

The award will be split into two payments. The first reimbursement will be made upon completion of hire and successful orientation. The second payment will be made after one year of employment. Candidates will be required to maintain a satisfactory annual evaluation to receive the second payment.

Candidates also will be required to commit to 12 months of service after each payment. If he or she does not stay the full 12 months after each payment, he or she will be required to pay back the loan, prorated.

Phase One – Requirements

  • Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school with a BSN within the last 12 months or plan to graduate by the Spring of 2010
  • Candidates must submit the application and supporting documentation by the specified deadline. Candidates will be notified in March. The award is contingent on candidate being offered a Clinical Nurse I (CNI) position at TCH
    • If the candidate is not offered a CNI position at The Children’s Hospital, the award will be rescinded.
  • Candidate must pass the medical interpreters test.

Phase Two – Requirements

  • Candidates must apply to an open CNI position by visiting www.thechildrenshospital.org/careers
  • Candidates will be interviewed by the nursing leadership
  • Candidate must be hired into a CNI position
  • Candidates must pass their NCLEX
