Child Neurology Clinic
The Department of Neurology at The Children’s Hospital evaluates and treats infants, children and teens with neurological disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems. As a major referral center for the western United States, we provide consultation, ongoing care and diagnostic services to identify, characterize and treat neurological problems in children and adolescents.
We are a recognized leader in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders, headaches, neuromuscular diseases, movement disorders, pediatric strokes, genetic disorders affecting the nervous system, developmental delays, disorders of muscle tone and other neuromuscular diseases.
Why choose Children’s?
Our specialists go the extra mile to get to know and understand your child, not just their medical problems. Our doctors and nurses work closely with patients and their families to develop a treatment plan with a positive outcome. Our multi-disciplinary team consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologists, researchers and psychosocial support personnel.
The Department of Neurology sees and treats more than 12,000 children each year, and our staff has special training focused solely on caring for the needs of kids. In addition, our neurology clinics are enhanced by other child-centered services provided by other departments on site, such as lab and radiology.

Your appointment
Before your appointment
Before coming to a scheduled appointment at any of the neuroscience clinics, please review the Neurology New Patient Information Packet and print out and complete the Neurology New Patient History Form . Please bring the completed form and any outside records, including imaging studies on a disc to your appointment.
Our patients are treated in our general neurology and specialty clinics – your primary care provider will work with our team to determine which one of our clinics is the right place for your family to start. You may call to schedule an appointment with neurology, or an appointment can be made by referral from your pediatrician, family doctor or other healthcare provider.
The Department of Neurology’s office and most of its clinics are located at our main campus, in Aurora, Colorado. Clinical services are also provided through The Children’s Hospital Network of Care locations in Broomfield and Parker and at other sites throughout the region.
It is important that we receive all medical records including any diagnostic tests for the visit. If you have records from outside The Children’s Hospital, please mail them to us prior to your child’s appointment or bring them with you. Please provide x-rays (MRI, etc) on disk or film as well as EEG waveforms on DVD with a browser program. Please bring bottles of all current medications.
