Neurosurgery
Neurosurgeon, Michael Handler, MD, with
patient in clinic.
The Pediatric Neurosurgery Program at The Children’s Hospital diagnoses and treats children with diseases of the brain and spinal cord. We offer integrated, comprehensive treatment for all types of disorders affecting the nervous system and skull including traumatic injury, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, brain tumors and facial and skull deformities.
Why choose The Children's Hospital for Neurosurgery?
The Children’s Hospital has the most comprehensive pediatric neurosurgical program in the Rocky Mountain region. Our fellowship-trained and board certified pediatric neurosurgeons have more than 50 years of combined experience and focus solely on children.
Our neurosurgeons work closely with other internationally known specialists at Children’s to form multidisciplinary programs and clinics such as the Craniofacial Clinic, the NeuroOncology Program, the Spinal Defects Clinic and the Epilepsy Program.
The Surgical Epilepsy Program provides the only comprehensive treatment program for chronic seizure disorders in the region. Brain Lab® image-guided endoscopic surgery allows neurosurgeons to perform complex brain operations through relatively small openings in the skull for treatment of epilepsy.
