The Children's Hospital 9th Floor
The 9th floor houses our Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU), the Clinical Translational Research Center (CTRC) and the pulmonary inpatient unit. This dedicated respiratory unit allows for multidisciplinary care for patients with pulmonary conditions that require complex care plans. Look for the "Orange Ram" and you will know you are in the right place.
The floor is shaped like an "L" and has two wings of private patient rooms.Upon exiting the elevator, you will see the family lounge, complete with computer and television and the playroom next door. Cheerful colors, beautiful views and lots of natural sunlight provide a welcoming environment.
Helping Kids Heal
This specialized respiratory unit, along with our pulmonary team, which includes 40 nurses, clinical assistants and specialists, allows us to provide the coordinated inpatient and outpatient care these children and families require. This dedicated space allows for enhanced educational and clinical research opportunities and improved patient outcomes.
As with all of our inpatient units, we know peace and privacy are essential to the healing process. So all of our overnight patients have private rooms with beautiful views. Private bathrooms, most with full-sized tubs and showers, provide comfort and privacy for you and your child.
Your comfort is just as important so you can provide the support your child needs. Each room has an extra-deep, custom sofa bed built for two, generous lockable storage, and a desk and data port so you can keep in touch with friends, family or the office. Families can also find respite in the family lounge on each floor.
