The Children's Hospital Chapel and Garden of Hope
Located on the first floor off of the east side of Boettcher Atrium, our interfaith chapel is open at all times—day and night. Just outside of the chapel doors lies the Garden of Hope. Designed as peaceful retreat for quiet reflection and prayer, a maze of paths meanders through the east end of this special outdoor retreat.
Helping Kids Heal
Peace and relaxation are important elements of the healing process for kids and parents alike. The chapel and gardens were designed to provide both. The Chapel features inspiring art glass, designed and crafted by Richard Parrish in Bozeman, Montana. His glass design connects lines and colors, aligning many different shapes and sizes.
The deep, earthy color palette offers a calming feel, while the design centers on several themes: transforming disorder to coherence; the cycles of time and life; and Axis Mundi, the vertical relationship between the sky and the earth. The Garden includes a labyrinth. An ancient spiritual discipline, the labyrinth is a pathway to walk with a mindful focus.
