The Children's Hospital Playroom

Because all kids need time to play, playrooms are found on every inpatient floor.  You will see them as you exit the elevators next to the family lounge area. They include age-appropriate activities for all of our patients from infancy to young adults. These areas are staffed by volunteers who also visit patient rooms as needed.  They will bring along appropriate toys and activities to give patients and families a chance to engage in fun, everyday  activities.

Helping Kids Heal

Play provides an opportunity for kids in the hospital to engage in their usual activities.  Our play areas are a "safe zone", free from medical procedures and treatments, which help ease the stress of being in a hospital environment.
