Family Health Library

The Family Health Library's purpose is to provide information in the broad areas of parenting, child development, and medical illnesses in children. The Family Health Library is open to families of patients, educators, healthcare professionals, and children. The materials in the Family Health Library are presented in easy-to-understand language for parents. We also offer Spanish translations for many materials. The Family Health Library is located on the first floor of the hospital. For help finding information on medical topics or any of your library needs we're here to assist you. Stop by and see us!

Online Services

The Family Health Library offers a wealth of information, not only for those who visit the library in person, but also for those online! Visit our online library of information from trusted health resources:

  • Disorders from A to Z includes website links, articles and handouts for specific condition areas you might be researching, including such areas as Cancer, Diabetes, Learning Disabilities, etc.
  • Trusted Medical Information Sites are sites that the librarians at The Family Health Library recommend as good general websites for health and medical information.
  • Drug Information Sites include trusted websites with information about medications and drugs to help in your research.
  • Education and School Links are great websites that provide information that is helpful in the education and schooling of your children and can be valuable for teachers and educators.
  • Online card catalog.  Our books are listed in the joint catalog for the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.  The location code "TCH FHL" means the Family Health Library has the book.

Books

The books at The Family Health Library can be checked out by anyone. What makes it easy for you is that our books can be returned through most public libraries in Colorado. Search our online book catalog.

Information Packets

The Family Health Library will also help you do in-depth research on information that is not found in books, but found online and in articles the library receives. This includes information on illnesses, wellness and parenting, and includes information from local and national support groups. Would you like to have the library compile an information packet for you? Request an information packet to be sent to you.
